International Education Day

The students took over the school and assumed the roles of teachers and all other school employees! On one day, a new director, the entire professional service and new teachers were elected. Even the cooks, the secretary, the accountant, the maids and the housekeeper have found their replacements. The students had the opportunity to get to know and try the occupations they encounter every day at school. The flipped classroom and the role play, was tried by more than fifty students! Everyone did their duty diligently, and no one could hide the satisfaction on their faces!

Field teaching in lavender fields

Pupils attending Civic Education went to field lessons at Family farm Pekica. Together with their teacher, they visited the lavender fields, participated in the preparation of traditional Istrian dishes, fed the animals and then ate what they had prepared. The hosts gave each student a suitable gift with their products. The students returned home with smiles on their faces and full bellies!

Visit to the Association of Pensioners of Rovinj

The third graders, accompanied by their teachers, visited the Association of Pensioners of the City of Rovinj. The pensioners welcomed the students with songs, recitations and with the dance dance “Balun”. The students also came prepared and prepared several recitations and songs for the pensioners. It was just an introduction and the beginning of a friendship and companionship that will continue throughout the school year.

Vintage

The students of the fourth grade proved to be very hardworking. They visited the Vivoda Agricultural Trade, which prepared everything they needed for the students to try their hand at grape harvesting, which they did and successfully completed the job! In this way, the students connected knowledge from Nature and society with practical work in the vineyard.

We Are All Special

The school pedagogue attended a course as part of the Erasmus+ project "Be GITA" in Barcelona. The course "We Are All Special: Inclusion and Support for Students with Special Needs In and Out of the Classroom" was held in Barcelona from September 11 to 16. The pedagogue learned about the inclusion of children with special needs, tolerance, empathy and emotional intelligence at the course. There were also colleagues from Sweden, Italy, Germany, Slovakia and Bulgaria at the course. It was an opportunity to exchange experiences and make acquaintances among schools.

Elections

With the beginning of the new school year, new elections for class leaderships were also held in our school! ️🗳️📚

During the first week of classes, elections for class leaderships were held in a way that students became familiar with the democratic process of elections.
Interested candidates presented themselves with short motivational speeches in which they presented their virtues, skills, ways of providing support and solving problems, which they considered key for performing the role of class representative.
The class electoral commission prepared the number of ballots according to the list of voters, the ballot box, distributed the ballots to the voters and circled their names on the list of voters.

The students filled in the ballots by secret ballot. The electoral commission counted the votes and filled out the minutes of the elections, which they delivered to the class teachers and pedagogue.

With such activities, we encourage and teach students about the importance of active participation in the community and develop responsible members of society. 🤝🌟
