As part of the project Institutionalization of Homeland Education, our school worked on the project Rovinj Olympians from October 2018 to April this year, in which seventh grade students participated. The aim of the project was to get acquainted with Rovinj athletes who participated in the Olympic Games. Thus, the students learned about Silvano Abbi, Giovanni Paliaga, Giansandro Rudan, Robert Tomašević and Goran Volarević. In the Croatian Language class, students researched, wrote biographies and interviews, in Art they redesigned Olympic jerseys and modeled, and the biggest excitement occurred when Olympians Rudan and Tomašević, coaches Iskra and Banko visited our school, and a video call was established with Volarević who is in Italy. A workbook with student works was also printed, and the project presentation was held at the Homeland Festival in Umag on May 17, 2019.
