The only limit in art is imagination, and our teachers and students have proven that their imagination has no end. This time, the students of the fifth grade at Art culture created their artistic pieces on the pages of old books, while the students of the second grade made snowflakes of rolls of toilet paper.
Motivated by the preservation of the environment and the theme of sustainable development, the students of our school prepared an exhibition called "Sustainable Corner". "Sustainable Corner" is the result of the cooperation of numerous students and teachers. Students of the 2nd grade diligently made vases decorated with flowers made of plastic bottles. Recycled flowers were made by seventh graders who turned old plastic bottles into real little works of art. The 3rd grade made wooden balls on Rovinj and mosaics with seeds. While the sixth and seventh graders, under the guidance of the art teacher, created portraits from leaves, decorated the billboard and made a pine tree from books! Of course, these are books were intended to end up in the trash. An additional atmosphere was created by the 3rd class, who drew a fireplace, and students in the after-school, who made boots. With joint work, effort, but also with a lot of fun, it was created a corner that reminds us of the importance of taking care of the world in which we live. It is also a corner that spreads the Christmas atmosphere and togetherness throughout the school, but also a happy holiday greeting to everyone who will visit our small exhibition in the coming days!
The students learned about garbage and waste sorting in the Nature and Society lesson. They learned which waste sorting bins exist and which waste is thrown into them. They gave examples from their own experience of how waste can be recycled and separated. At the end of the class, they had the opportunity to sort the waste into the containers prepared for it. The students showed that they are environmentally aware and sorted the waste correctly.
